The mission of The Mezzanine is to provide an environment and experience to the global arts community which nurtures, honors, and cultivates both audiences and artists now and into the future.
- The Mezzanine is not only a performance space for seasoned artists to deepen their work, but also a witnessing space for mature audience members to expand their artistic gaze.
- The Mezzanine is conveniently located in downtown Colorado Springs on Tejon, where it will be most effective as part of the Creative District and enhancing the local arts scene.
- The Mezzanine was born out of the fusion between our passion for artistic sustainability in Colorado Springs, and a generous donation of a historical downtown space.
- The Mezzanine’s economic purpose is as a social enterprise in a partnership with local business leaders Sam and Kathy Guadagnoli and The Colorado Springs Conservatory, ensuring the educational development of future performing artists.
The Mezzanine is somewhat of a miracle for the Colorado Springs area, as it would not have been possible without an artistic vision and two generous benefactors. The vision: To create a space where exceptional, high-quality and diverse performance art would be witnessed in a setting that is comfortable and accessible, yet exclusive.
Hosting a prestigious and respected performance arts space in downtown Colorado Springs would revolutionize the way Colorado Springs experiences the arts. The Benefactors: Stars align and enter Sam and Kathy Guadagnoli, long-time, successful, downtown Colorado Springs business owners. By providing the historical space, the Guadagnolis helped manifest the vision allowing young and seasoned artists to continue to thrive, and the arts culture in Colorado Springs to graduate to a level of global respect.
The private LLC, ‘Works of Art’ will be producing many of the performances at the Mezzanine in addition to the Colorado Springs Conservatory. This LLC will donate ticket proceeds to support the Colorado Springs Conservatory.
